The New Assessment and Assignment Builder Webinar I April 14, 2022

Next school year (2022-23), USATestprep and Education Galaxy will become Progress Learning. Along with our new name, we’re launching a new platform with enhanced functionality for schools, teachers, and students! We’re excited to bring you these upgrades and want to make sure you have everything you need to prepare for the next school year.

We are excited to share the new Assessment/Assignment Center! Here, users can build assignments, create and manage their self-authored tests, and share with peers in the school or across the district.

What happened to the "performance tasks" in assignments? Those were far better than the random questions because I could pick and choose which ones I assigned

Performance Tasks are now called Tech-Enhanced Items in Progress Learning. If you would like to pick and choose those individually, the best way to do this is to create an assessment with her hand-picked TEIs and then assign it to students.

We do include tech-enhanced items in the regular question bank, so students will also encounter these in study plan and in assigned practice sets of questions or generated tests.

Anything created after July 17 will not be in Progress Learning. USATestprep users can still access their old assessments and questions-- just nothing created after July 17.

How can I share previous assessments from the previous "USATESTPREP" to share them with current teachers on the Progress Learning platform. The assessments I built on USATESTPREP are not shared. Thanks, Jonathan.

Hi Jonathan! Ensure the setting is enabled. And the teacher has the correlating test subject attached to their class. They will then find this in the assessment/assignment bank. Contact support@progresslearning.com for any additional assistance.

USA TEST PREP used to give me the option to assign tests in English and Spanish as well as printing the assessments in Spanish. My school is 40% ESOL levels 1 and 2. I do not see this option. If this option is not available I will have to talk to admin for other assessment platforms.

Hello, you can customize the language settings for your students on their practice and assessments by navigating to Class Center on the teacher dashboard, and then selecting Class Management. You will then select your class, and then click the option Settings for that class. You can then select the language mode for individual students: Toggle English to Spanish, None (English Only), or Spanish Only. If you have questions on how to enable this feature, please email support@progresslearning.com

USA Test Prep had a practice section where students could go and practice standards. Is this not available anymore?

That is now called the "Study Plan," rather than "Practice." Students can find all of their standards to practice in that menu option.

I teach American Literature. When I create an assessment and I choose the questions, is there a way to search by passage title instead of the standard? For example, we just read The Earth on the Turtle's Back, and I want to search for questions just related to that story. Is there a way to do that? If not what would you suggest I do to find questions on stories we read in class? Thank you

When building an assessment, you can use the alphabetical passage sort to see if that passage is available. You can also author your own questions and include your own passages, and then build your own questions related to the passage to assign.

Is there a way for teachers to search/preview questions or test items without going through the assessment/assignment builder?
Is there a way to compare the student scores on two specific assessments (for instance, Fall Benchmark vs. Spring Benchmark)?
